Apparently when A A Gill went to Enak Enak he was greeted by Nancy screaming at him ‘Who the fuck are you?’. Later she told him to ‘move his fat balls under the table and eat up’. His review was glowing.
This is a far east restaurant but it’s specialty is Indonesian food so we tried to steer clear of the Thai and Chinese dishes.
Beef Rendang… Nancy told us the beef was hung and then marinated for 3 days. The meat was tender and very tasty, really spicy and full of flavour.
Chicken Sambal… the chicken was velvety, the sauce spicy and a little sweet. A great dish, not as rich as the rendang but everything would pale beside it.
We had the banana fritters and coconut ice cream for dessert, both solid simple desserts. I generally find Asian places are weak in the dessert department but here they sticked to basics and they are good desserts.
Servings were a little small and the interior is a little dated but the service was great.
