Boorani-e-Aubergine – Smoked aubergines, garlic mixed with yoghurt.
Kashk-e-Bademjan – Sautéed aubergines, onion, garlic, walnuts, whey, mint.
Chellow Kabab Barg – Tender kabab of marinated lamb fillet based in butter served with rice and grilled tomato.
Zereshk Polow Ba Morgh – Steamed saffron rice mixed with barberries, sliced pistachios, sliced almonds, served with braised chicken.
The aubergine dips were good as was the accompanying flat breads. The Kashk-e-Bademjan was the better of the two, a great nutty flavour. The other dip was a little to yoghurty.
The lamb kabab was nice but nothing special, it wasn’t tender enough and the marinade was a little bland.
I loved the chicken, the rice was an amazing rainbow of colour and really tasty, the chilli sauce was great and the chicken was juicy and tender but the serving was too small.
