Nasu Dengaku – traditional dish of aubergine & miso.
I would happily eat this as a dessert, the eggplant half is charred and nicely creamy, topped off by a very sweet, caramelised miso glaze. I would imagine this is too sweet for some but it was fine by me.
Kushi Katsu – Skeweres of pork and red onion katsu with tonkatsu sauce.
The batter on the pork was too thick and overwhlemed it, the dipping sauce was again really sweet.
Soft Shell ‘Spider’ Crab Tempura Uramaki
The sushi was nice but not wrapped well, there was too much rice in proportion to the crab.
Ok, grateful for the discovery of the Nasu Dengaku.
